Art Theft - What is it, and what will happen if committed?

I'm here to discuss the topic of Art Theft.
Art theft is the act of re-posting someone else's art/work without their consent; claiming it as your own, or attempting to make a profit off of it.

It isn't okay and it is considered illegal.

It all boils down to this: the following acts of art theft are prohibited by any means. Failure to follow these guidelines on Talviara may result in a termination of your account.

- Using someone else's art for your avatar without their permission.
- Using someone else's work in your signature without their permission.
- Posting someone's art on the Market in an attempt to re-sell them without the artist's consent.
- Posting artwork that isn't yours anywhere on the message boards and claiming it as your own work.
-Using someone's lineart in one of your reference sheets without crediting them/claiming the lineart as your own work.
-Posting someone's art on the forums without their consent/without crediting them.
-Heavy referencing or tracing someone else's art work and claiming the finished product as your own.
-Referencing or tracing someone else's work without crediting them.



This also goes for attempting to do any of this on chat, too! (For instance, uploading a custom pose that you do not have permission to use.)

Use common sense!


I know that all of you know how to decipher between what is an act of art theft and what isn't. Please refrain from any act of stealing art.
use your imagination to create your own masterpiece, I know you can do it!
