What is considered an acceptable joke, and what isn't?

Greetings everyone! Kivuli here. I'm posting this as a continuation from Tipsy's post about trigger warnings.
It has come to my attention that this is a rather sensitive topic on Chatlands, and it is causing issues constantly while sparking drama that isn't necessary. 
So, I'm here in an attempt to put all of that to rest.
 
I feel as if this should be a thread posted on every Chatlands forum out there: it is important to know what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to joking matters.

It's one thing when you and a close friend of yours, for instance, have an inside joke, and because both of you understand the meaning behind it, neither of you are offended or hurt. But that does not mean that other users, especially minors, will find the same thing to be funny. Depending on the topic that the joke centers around, it could be potentially hurtful or harmful.
please be aware that the following topics are (in what should be all cases) not acceptable joking matters. Persisting in making a joke or wisecrack about these subjects will consequently offend someone and may get you in trouble. Users may have had a scarring experience regarding these topics in the past.


Unacceptable subjects to joke about:

-Rape.
-Sexual Orientation/gender pronouns.
-Suicide.
-Self-Harm.
-Racial derogatory jokes.
-Eating/Mental disorders.
-Anything of the sort. All of you are capable of using common sense.

Please keep in mind that, if you are concerned with any of these topics and wish to consult someone about them, I, along with other administrators here, will do our best to help you.
